Chief Judge Patricia E. Campbell-Smith announces the appointment of Brian H. Corcoran as Special Master of the Vaccine Program

On January 13, 2014 Chief Judge Patricia E. Campbell-Smith of the United States Court of Federal Claims (USCFC) announced the appointment of Brian H. Corcoran as Special Master of the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (Vaccine Program) within the USCFC. Special Master Corcoran will carry out the functions authorized by the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act of 1986, 42 U.S.C. §§ 300aa-1 to -34, including the conduct of proceedings to determine compensation under the Vaccine Program.

Court Fee Changes as of December 1 , 2013

Effective December 1, 2013, the fee for filing a Notice of Appeal is $505.00. Also, the fee for retrieving a box of records from the Federal Records Center is $64.00 for the first box and $39 for each additional box. For further information and to view the full fee schedule, please click here.

Elaine D. Kaplan took the oath of office on November 6, 2013, as Judge of the United States Court of Federal Claims. Judge Kaplan was nominated by President Obama on March 19, 2013, confirmed by the Senate on September 17, 2013, and appointed by the President to a 15-year term on November 1, 2013. The oath of office was administered by Chief Judge Patricia Campbell-Smith.
